Summer is on the home stretch . . .
It’s hard to believe that Summer is winding its way down. The days are slowly getting shorter and yesterday, being our first rain in weeks, gave a nice reminder of what we have to look forward to. I’m a little behind on our blog, so bare with me as I catch up on the goings-on.
Carson Ridge has been crazy-busy, which is spectacular. We have hosted guests from all over the world and we’re not slowing down. Our new packages have proven to be in high demand; the Wind Surfing and Kite Boarding lessons with Hood River Water Play have left guests ready for the next wind, and Zoller’s whitewater rafting trips have far exceeded expectations on those triple digit temperature days. We’d be remiss to leave out the massive Salmon and Sturgeon that have made their way back with our guests experiencing the ultimate in guided fishing offered by Steve’s Guide Service.
Although the above adventures are on the extreme side, our more laid back guests have not been disappointed with the various hikes we’ve sent them on. Prized photos of spectacular waterfalls and beautiful scenery found here in the Columbia River Gorge are being passed among guests and staff. Off the trails, Martin with Martin’s Gorge Tours, has kept guests busy experiencing the local tastes of our neighborhood . . . having 30+ wineries within a 30 mile radius makes for an exciting afternoon of tasting.
Now, what have we been doing? Well, aside from nearly completing our new Healing Center located in the main building, we are in the planning process of new construction for our three new luxury cabins. We are thrilled to offer the new cabins to next summer’s guests, as well as to complete our planned yoga platform, garden expansion, and property development. All of this is part of our goal to be an exclusive state of the art retreat enabling you to fully relax and rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul.
We invite you to visit as the Fall colors work their way into the backdrop of this beautiful Gorge that becomes even more radiant with the passing of seasons. Imagine yourself relaxing on your private porch swing with a soft fleece blanket draped over your legs as you watch the sun set and the stars brighten, the waving wild grass fading into the shadows of dusk.
Can you see yourself here?
