Calling All Gardeners
Do you love to sink your hands into fertile soil? Does growing organic food deeply satisfy you? Do you enjoy working with others?
If so, consider spending a weekend in the gardens of our Hood River Cabins. Join us for How Our Community Garden Grows, April 15 – 17 (once the ground has thawed and the taxes have been filed).
Together we’ll roll up our sleeves and work side by side in our gardens. Our goal is to grow more good food to share with our guests and our neighbors. All are welcome to join us, especially those gardeners who live in a city like Portland or Seattle and may not have access to a plot of ground.
A local organic farmer will work alongside us, there to share knowledge and answer questions. A local bee-keeper will share information on this wonderful, ancient practice. An expert on compost will talk with us about the wonders of compost and how to start our own compost bins.
Come one, come all: novices and Master Gardeners, weekend gardeners and apartment dwellers. Our goals is for many hands to make light the work, and to foster the greater community of our Columbia Gorge Cabins. By way of thanks, we’re reducing our cabin rates and treating you to a few perks, too. For more details, please see our Columbia River Retreats.
Perhaps you’ll find time to stay at our Hood River Bed and Breakfast later in the summer, so you may sit at the table and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
