Columbia Gorge Wine Tasting: AniChe Cellars is a Must-Visit!
At our Columbia Gorge bed and breakfast we often overhear guest conversations, especially table-to-table chat as people enjoy our sumptuous gourmet breakfasts. Since wine tasting is so popular here in the Columbia River Gorge, occasionally the wine talk turns to the pros and cons of sulfites.
We read an article recently by Rachel Horn
, the only woman winemaker in our Columbia Gorge AVA. She has some definite opinions on the subject of sulfites, and she’s especially interested in debunking commonly-held myths. Rachel and her husband Todd Mera own AniChe Cellars, just a short drive from us here at Carson Ridge Private Luxury Cabins.
AniChe offers unusual varietals as well as traditional favorites and interesting blends, in a functional wine tasting room that manages to feel comfortable even though there’s no doubt you’re visiting a working winery.
It’s friendly and personal at AniChe – they’ll make you feel entirely at home. You can talk directly with Rachel and Todd, if they’re around, or enjoy tasting room manager Maren, or quite possibly, Don will pour for you. In addition to friendly conversation, your tasting will include small snacks specifically chosen to pair tantalizingly with the different wines.
You’ll probably want to linger.
So get a glass of your favorite wine and relax on their patio, where you can take in what has to be one of the most stunning views of the Columbia River, from anywhere.
Wine tasting is always a very popular activity among our guests here at our Columbia Gorge bed and breakfast. And no wonder – there are dozens of wonderful wineries on both sides of the Columbia River, all within an easy drive from our romantic Washington cabins.
