Gifford Pinchot National Forest – See It!

May 17, 2014

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is one of the oldest National Forests in the United States and is located in Southwest Washington State. Home to over 1,368,300 acres of beautiful views makes visiting the forest one of the best decisions ever! Your trip to Carson Ridge Luxury Cabins will most likely not afford you the opportunity to explore every single acre – but we can sure help you spend your time wisely so you can see some of the unbelievable sights in the forest.
Mount St. Helens
Mount St. Helens majestically waiting for your arrival.
Take for instance Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. Numerous viewpoints and miles of trails have been created for you to explore by car and foot. During the summer Forest Service interpreters lead a wide range of activities, from short walks to amphitheater presentations to help you understand and enjoy the area. Or, if you are planning a winter visit to the Columbia River Gorge check out the wonder of winter around Mount St. Helens where many cross-country ski and snowmobile trails are available.
Glorious! Come get your own view soon.
Mt. Adams with its summit of 12,276 feet is another must-see. It is the second highest peak in Washington State and the third highest peak in the Cascades Range and accommodates activities like campfires, bicycling, climbing, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, and whitewater rafting. Whew!
hiking to Falls Creek Falls
Wander along the creek bed and across the suspension bridges will bring you face-to-face with this!
Or if you are in need of a waterfall fix you have definitely picked the right place! An unprecedented 162 waterfalls rush wildly in The Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Seriously – 162 waterfalls! That is just amazing. With all of the wonderful opportunities for fun in the forest I am thinking a call to Carson Ridge Luxury Cabins to book a week stay is in your very near future! See you soon!
